SIGN ON TO THIS LETTER TO OUR LEGISLATORS IN OLYMPIA
Dear Washington State Legislators:
We believe everyone should treat each other with understanding and respect, and expect the same in return. All of us, including our transgender friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors, deserve the freedom to live our lives with privacy, safety and dignity.
Transgender people are, like all of us, diverse humans. They are parents, grandparents, children, business owners, musicians, health care practitioners, college students, retirees, employees and veterans. Transgender people come from every walk of life, ethnicity and every corner of the Evergreen state. What transgender people have in common is that they face greater discrimination and violence just for being who they are.
We believe transgender Washingtonians should be, as they have for the last 10 years, protected from discrimination. We urge you, as our lawmakers, to learn more about our state’s transgender community members by visiting TransformWashington.com.
